Winston-Salem is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Winston-Salem follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

My experience here was slightly disappointing, although I think the restaurant has potential with its unique menu and rustic atmosphere. Food: 2.5/5 I was excited to try the Beast Burger, but wasn't sure about whether to order it a little underdone or not. The chef did come out to recommend it be cooked medium, but to be safe I made the mistake of ordering it well done. When it finally came out of the kitchen, it was absolutely burnt to a crisp. There was so much char on the outside that it was almost completely black. Instead of sending it back, I decided to just attempt to cut off the exterior, which left me with very little meat on an already thinner patty than I had expected. I was told the burger was made in house, but the patty seemed smaller and more neatly formed than I would have expected for a homemade patty. The side of smashed sweet potatoes didn't have the most appealing flavor either, which almost tasted like Worcestershire sauce and cayenne pepper were mixed in. I felt the seasoning clashed with the natural sweetness of the potato. I wanted to try dessert, especially their crème brulée, but this week they had a rather unorthodox espresso flavor, so I decided to pass

We had a business meeting at this Winston-Salem establishment in the middle of the day on a weekday. It was fairly crowded. When you first enter, you notice the trappings of a hunting or fishing lodge. There is a fireplace, as well as canoes and fishing stuff on the walls. We ordered the local trout, with sweet potatoes and asparagus. We also ordered a chicken salad sandwich. The trout was delicious. For dessert, we wanted to try a traditional North Carolina dessert, so we tried the banana pudding. The native North Carolinaians in our group commented that the pudding we were served was not prepared in an authentically North Carolina-ish manner, but it was still good. We did not order any alcoholic beverages. The service was friendly and attentive. This was overall a very pleasant lunch.

This was our first visit, but we will definitely be returning. I had the French Dip Panini. It excellent. The restaurant has a cozy lodge vibe without being over the top. Our server Evan was phenomenal. I returned today and had the same excellent experience. I met the owner today. He was hand on helping servers today because they were so busy. He was a pure delight to talk to. It is easy to see why everyone is so pleasant and efficient in their jobs.

Visiting the Winston Salem area we were looking for a nice place for a family dinner. River Birch Lodge hit the spot. The food was flavorful and delicious, the menu offered a wide variety of options, and the ambiance was lovely. The staff was attentive, in particular our server Angel.

Just a really sweet place to hang out either with friends, family, or your significant other. Beautiful, cozy decor work fireplaces warming is up. Loved the food! Very tasty and classic as well as healthy options. We had the bison cream cheese dip - they accommodated my gluten free needs by bringing both the flatbread for hubby and corn tortilla chips for me! Had salmon berry salad, husband had burger and fries. They even had option for GF bun! For dessert we shared dark chocolate creme brulee - super yummy!
